Safe, clean & affordable water for Northern Colorado

Forward-thinking collaboration to meet the long-term water treatment needs of our rapidly growing region.

Cobb Lake Regional Water Treatment Authority

Sustainable water solutions for the future

The Cobb Lake Regional Water Treatment Authority (CLRWTA) is a forward-thinking, regional collaboration established to meet the long-term municipal water treatment needs for the Fort Collins-Loveland Water District and the Towns of Eaton, Severance and Windsor. Due to the anticipated growth of Northern Colorado, which is expected to double in population by 2050, regional coordination is critical to securing and managing our region’s current and future Weld county water needs and beyond.

Regional Water Treatment for Northern Colorado Communities

To treat and deliver clean, safe and affordable water in Northern Colorado, to the four service areas, CLRWTA will be constructing a state-of-the-art water treatment facility in Northern Colorado and an approximate 20-mile underground delivery pipeline. The facility is anticipated to be operational by 2030. The water treatment facility will be located approximately 10 miles north of Windsor in Weld County, near Cobb Lake.

CLWRTA allows participating entities to share resources and infrastructure to meet year-round demands and increase water treatment resilience. Our collective efforts will ensure reliable and affordable water in Northern Colorado from the newly constructed Weld county water treatment facility by Cobb Lake.
